    The TCWF notes with sorrow the recent deaths of two of our Advisory Board members.

    John Corbally joined our board in 2002 and generously lent his name and reputation as an educator and philanthropic leader to our organization. He served as President of the University of Illinois and later as the first President of the MacArthur Foundation. John died in July 2004.

    Ancil Payne was the first member of our Advisory Board, joining shortly after the Foundation was established in 2001. Ancil was a close friend of Tom Wales and it was in deference to that friendship that he graciously joined our Advisory Board. He was unfailingly cheerful and supportive to our fledgling organization, helping with advice and encourgement and by recruiting others to join our cause. Ancil died in October 2004.
